Saratoga, CA was established in 1848 and is located in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains. It started out initially as a sawmill supplying lumber for the rapid growth of the surrounding areas. Incorporated in 1956 to separate it from the larger San Jose area, it is known today as one of the many bedroom communities for the surrounding Silicon Valley.
Saratoga is famous today for the high educational level of its residents and the affluence of the community. Residents are understandably proud of maintaining their small town atmosphere with its’ excellent schools and unique shopping and dining establishments. The city of Saratoga is also home to the Hakone Gardens, the oldest Japanese style residential garden in the western hemisphere.
Since Saratoga is also known for the quality of the medical and dental services offered, many visitors from foreign countries actually plan to stay to have procedures such as dental implants done while visiting.
